What to bring


OUTFITTING CHECKLIST:

  • Passport or Drivers license
  • Small "field bag"
  • Recoil pad
  • Shooting glasses
  • Shooting gloves
  • Light-weight  shooting vest
    or shell belt
  • Ear/hearing protection
  • Insect Repellent
  • Pocket knife
  • Sunscreen
  • Aloe Vera gel for sunburn
  • Camera gear and film
  • Small flashlight
  • Waders and chaps


SHOTGUNS:

Remington 870 pump and Beretta Over and unders (12 ga. and 20 ga.) are available for those hunters choosing to eliminate paperwork and reduce cost.


Personal shotguns are still permitted with standard application form and cost.

NOTICE: DO NOT CROSS BORDER WITH GUNS OR AMMUNITION WITHOUT A CASA BLANCA REPRESENTATIVE PRESENT.



Dove Hunting:

Weather: The weather during our "Summer" will average in the 90’'s-100’s. 


Clothing: Doves "flare" from light or bright colors, consequently it is important to dress in field colors: light green, dark khaki or camouflage.


Shorts: For shooting 3 or 4 pairs in field colors.

Swimsuit: Bring one.

Shirts: For shooting, bring 4 to 6 short-sleeved, light weight cotton shirts in field colors.  To purchase Casa Blanca hunting shirts check out our online store.

 

Long Sleeved Shirts: For sun protection only.  To purchase Casa Blanca hunting shirts check out our online store.


Footwear: For shooting, bring light-weight boots with a rigid sole. They should lace at least to the ankle. Cordura or cordura/leather combinations are great.

Hat: Sun protection is a must. For shooting use a poplin baseball style cap As an alternative use a  wide-brimmed straw, canvas or poplin hat.

Raingear: Light-weight rain suit or poncho.

Eyewear: Stray shot is always possible, so wear protective shooting glasses or sunglasses.



QUAIL/DUCK/DEER HUNTING:

Weather: The weather during our "Winter Season" will average in the 60's for the afternoons and 30’s at night.  However, frequent cold fronts can drop temperatures close to freezing.


Clothing: Outfit for mild temperatures with one set of clothes for cold weather (30+) in the event a cold front passes. Bring an orange vest for quail hunts.

Footwear: Hip waders are sufficient for duck hunters. Snake chaps or boots are required for quail hunting.


Raingear: Light-weight rain suit or poncho.
